GET TO KNOW ROOT + WEAVE

Melissa Chiara is a Weaver of Words, a published author (see 'Embers Beneath the Stars'), host of The Sharing Circle Podcast, a Women's Circle guide, a Shamanic Practitioner + the creator of ROOT + WEAVE.

An empowering + vulnerable space that calls upon your soul to re-member just how powerful you are.

If you are desiring community, support, deep feminine connection, a space to re-wild your soul

+ connect to your magick, then I would like to extend a warm welcome to you.

At Root + Weave, I believe in the power of the Earth to heal + guide us.

I seek to create a nurturing space where individuals can explore their soul’s deepest desires, uncover their authentic selves, + embrace their true purpose. Through Shamanic healing + poetic expression, we offer pathways to reconnect with ancient wisdom + weave it into the fabric of daily life.

Crafting warm, welcoming + grounding spaces is at the root of our offerings.

In our fast-paced society, we can feel uprooted + dis-connected,

as though magick was only something to be found in films.

The gentle act of slowing down feels uncomfortable.

Descending deep into our bodies, reaching for our roots, journeying into our psyches,

finding nourishment + guidance in our Underworld journeys feels like a notion only to be found in books.

But not here, here you called to re-member that you are the weaver of your magick.

Root + Weave offers a unique blend of ancient Shamanic practices + modern creativity.

By integrating the healing arts of Shamanism with the profound beauty of poetry, I offer a holistic approach that resonates with those who seek both spiritual depth + creative expression.

Bringing a compassionate + intuitive presence to each session,

creates experiences that are deeply personal + transformative.

🜂

I believe that there is a quiet knowing in all of us.

One that simmers gently in the background, a soft hum that cannot be silenced.

Igniting wildly when we step into a place of resonance, a place that whispers: ‘welcome home’.

For me, Shamanism feels like home.

Not a home made of bricks + mortar, four walls + a bay window, but a home that feels like two feet planted deep within the Earth, moonlight upon my skin + a sense of belonging to these ancient lands, of being a part of something greater than I, of being right here, right now, held + guided throughout my journey of life.

During moments of grief, even joy, the deep-rooted connection I have felt + created with the Earth Mother has anchored my bones + has held me in ways I could not imagine before traversing this journey.

As a child, I was wild, weird + carried a lingering sense of ‘there is something more here’.

To accept that this body, this mind, this soul was only here to lean into societal stress, consumerism, conversations that lacked depth + meaning - this felt all too false for the heart that thundered within my chest.

Though I spent years in a state of amnesia, climbing corporate ladders, buying into the latest trends + coupling with souls who were not aligned to mine, I slowly began to remember.

The voice of a child, carried by the wind, breathed life into a seed sown long ago within my heart

- ‘there is something more here’ …

+ so it came to be that I was guided to a practice that offered me more than I could imagine.

Shamanism took me by the hand + sat with me beside Grandfather Fire.

These Celtic-Italian roots were quick to soften into the Earth as I felt the warmth of the flames.

Hearing names like ‘Father Sky, Sister Moon, Brother Sun’ rekindled a long forgotten memory

+ I realised that there was time when my ancestors would have gathered around the Fire together too.

Cracked open, I felt inspired to finish something I had started many moons ago.

So into the caverns of my psyche I descended, + I devoted evening upon evening for months, until I published my book ‘Embers Beneath the Stars’ in September 2024. This body of work, holds poetry from a distant time, + seven Shamanic style journeys (without the drum of course) inviting the reader to journey into the depths of their psyche, meeting Animal Guides, facing their fear, igniting their courage + returning into 'Ordinary Reality' renewed.

Embracing Shamanism, in ways that feel meaningful for me, gifted me the courage to share ‘Embers’ with the world.

As a writer, + one who dances in the realm of poetic medicine, Shamanism stirred the Wild Woman within + invoked a deeper connection with my drum, whom I first sat with in July 2023,

not yet knowing the experiences we would have together.

Shamanism reminded me to live my life with passion, compassion, reciprocity + respect.

This path has encouraged many musings + as a woman who is often alone,

it has reminded me that I am never + will never be alone.
